I hope this newsletter finds you well. These are uncertain and unsettling times for us all. As a BBC news presenter and therefore classed as an ‘ essential worker’ I have continued to go into BBC Broadcasting House to present BBC World News. Social distancing measures have meant a lot of changes in the newsroom and have put Sunday Politics London on hold for the time being – but we’re all working hard to make sure that despite this, our audiences are getting the news they need. Because of social distancing presenters are now having to do our own make up – you can see the results below!
Many of us are wondering what life will be like after the cornovirus pandemic. I discussed ‘The true cost of the pandemic’ when I hosted a webinar interviewing former Finnish Prime Minster & recent Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Alexander Stubb in which he gave fascinating insights into the personal, national and international impact of Covid-19. Interviewing Alexander Stubb
As cornovirus swept the globe many live awards and events sadly had to be cancelled. One of those was ‘Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants’. So the organisers improvised and I co-hosted the results in a studio instead. You can watch them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAqA3GBgCqE
As many of you know I have a podcast ‘It’s a Grown Up Life’. My co host and I have recorded a ‘Women in Lockdown’ episode discussing the highs and lows of lockdown. You can listen here: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/1-series-2-ep1-women-in-lockdown-lauren-samantha-talk/id1397561584?i=1000470554620
Well that’s if for now. Stay safe and well.
Take Care
